Experience the undeniable charm of Oslo on a private guided tour through the famous landmarks of the Norwegian capital including the amazing sculptures of Gustav Vigeland complete with a stroll through the historic town center and a visit to the thousand year old Viking Ships in ship-shape condition.
After a warm meet and greet we are off to discover the old Viking neighborhood beautifully stretched along the sparkling Oslo fjord. We will start our day by enjoying an introductory sightseeing tour by bus. The famous landmarks of medieval Akershus Fortress, the heart of the government and administration, the City Hall and Parliament are on our route as well.
In the town center we take in the sights on the main street Karl Johans on a wonderful stroll. The guided walk through the city’s historic center includes views of the National Theatre, Royal Palace, Oslo University ensemble and the City Hall.
Thereafter we will take a step back in time on Bygdøy peninsula to the time when Nordic warriors ruled the seas. Our visit to the Viking Ship Museum is a unique look into the eternal life of a Viking King, presenting a collection of 1000- year-old ships of fine craftsmanship and detail in mint condition. A truly wonderful experience complete with everyday items of the era all discovered right here in the Oslo fjord.
After a short drive we will arrive at the celebrated Vigeland Sculpture Park. The lush green grounds are filled with figures of bronze, granite and forged iron depicting every emotion familiar to mankind, from blissful happiness to despair. This guided visit is an inspirational experience of extraordinary art depicting the depth of human life in otherwise ever so idyllic atmosphere of Oslo city.
We will head next to a more modern platform to revel in the panoramic bliss of Nordic highlands. The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet building is a stunning contemporary addition to the city skyline. We will take a short stroll on the unique rooftop plaza to explore the award winning structure a bit closer.
Having seen all the grandeur of history in architecture and the inviting atmosphere of Oslo, we will now return to the cruise harbor or your hotel.
