We start this Tallinn Sightseeing Tour with a drive through the beautiful suburbs, followed by an exploration, on foot, of the centuries old buildings, hidden courtyards and fortifications of the charming Old Town.
Your tour begins from the cruise port or hotel with the drive to Kadriorg Park, noted for its beautiful grounds and an 18th century baroque palace, originally the summer home of the Russian Czar, Peter the Great. A short stroll in the park will allow you to view the uniquely shaped KUMU Art Museum, and the palace residence of our current president.
The next stop will be at the famous Song Festival Grounds where the singing revolution was born and where over 25,000 singing voices of a mass choir continue to echo the spirit of this nation every 5 years in massive song festivals. Your drive continues on to the coastal district of Pirita, with its attractive pine forest park, beach and yachting center built for the 1980 Olympic Games. The ruins of the 15th century St Bridget’s Convent add a sharp and interesting contrast to the the newer buildings in this district.
The driving portion of the tour concludes on Toompea Hill in the upper section of the old town where you will continue on foot to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the city and the sea. This UNESCO world heritage town is still surrounded by much of it’s original fortifications with an abundance of charming medieval architecture within. Discover the 13th-century St. Mary’s (Dome) Cathedral and the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral before heading down to the lower section of the old town. Here you will find the only preserved medieval Gothic Town Hall in the entire Baltic and Scandinavian region, the oldest continuously functioning pharmacy in the world and many other architectural treasures.
At the end of the tour you can decide to stay in Old Town or return to cruise port or hotel. If you decide to stay in town, your guide will give you simple directions to get back to the cruise port which is only a 15 to 20 minute walk away and will be happy to suggest the best places to buy authentic locally made handicrafts.
When you return to cruise port, you have an option to do the shopping in the market inside the cruise terminal which consists of 25-30 small shops. There is a very good choice of handicraft available directly from local producers and prices are even lower than in the Old Town.

Tallinn Private Sightseeing Tour
We asked if Nordic Experience could do a combined tour, at first by bus and then a walking tour in the Old Town, there were also 7 blind persons and 6 guide dogs in our group. Luckily for us they agreed and responded sop quickly and were so flexible. Eva-Maria was the perfect guide for us, she took us to so interesting places, everybody said that this was a perfect sightseeing trip.
I highly recommend Eva-Maria and her company to all of the people visiting Tallinn, she will make your experience here perfect 🙂

Tallinn Private Sightseeing Tour
we have just returned from a 10day tour which included estonia
Eva Marie was our guide and we recommend her highly, very informative, very informal and easy to communicate with. Estonian experience gave us a very positive overview of tallin in the brief time frame we had available without overdoing their role.
Eva is a very patriotic person and her love of her country literally pours out of her. Besides explaining the venues we visited she also indulges in other interesting topics related to everyday life in her country and its relations to its neighbour states which helps one envisage better the type of lifestyle these countries lead. Thanks eva marie and we look forward to visiting estonia again for a longer period
