We decided to start our Estonian visit with a 3 hour tour with Marzipan modelling/painting and it was fantastic! Our guide, Triin, met us at our hotel and was there in the foyer when we came down. It was 3 of us, our 6 year old daughter included. We were absolutely impressed with Triin – her enthusiasm and knowledge, and love for her country and its stories and history, were infectious. Not only was she knowledgeable, but she was entertaining too. A lot of the stories she told us have stayed with us even a month after our visit – already recalled to family and friends multiple times. We cannot speak highly enough of her, and she should be commended! She was also so patient with us with our daughter, who began to tire of the tour about half way. We saw a lot of Tallinn in the 3 hours, and we even revisited some parts later during our stay. It remains one of our favourite experiences in our month long trip around Europe.
Our second tour, also fantastic, was a private tour to the nearby Viking Village. A booster seat was provided, and the car was comfortable for the 30min drive. The driver was lovely, and introduced us to the guide on arrival. The village was spectacular, snow covered as it was, and I swear the meal we had afterwards was one of the best we had in Europe – it was so hearty and delicious. The Village guide was also fantastic, and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour, also one of our highlights, and suitable for children.
