The highlights of this Stockholm city tour are an entertaining visit to the interactive exhibition at the Abba Museum and the impressive scale of the Vasa warship at the museum dedicated to its legacy.
Along the way we will also enjoy some of the most picturesque views of Stockholm, admire the island of Djurgården and see the National Museum, Royal Dramatic Theater and the Royal Palace.
The itinerary will then take you to the historic Gamla Stan, where Stockholm began over eight centuries ago. On our walking route, you will see the Stortorget – the square that serves as the hub of the Old Town, and the old Stock Exchange, now home of the Nobel Museum and the Swedish Academy building.
Our day continues with a visit to the Vasa Museum, built specifically to house the Vasa, the oldest fully-preserved ship in the world. On her maiden voyage in 1628, the warship had been sailing for less than 20 minutes before the wind caught her sails and toppled her. You will also explore the museum’s other exhibits and displays of historic items recovered from the harbor.
The visit to the Abba Museum is an experience more than any other. You will be able to enthuse in original ABBA memorabilia like stage outfits, instruments, gold records and awards. As an interactive experience, you will also be able to engage in singing and dancing, if desired.
This Stockholm tour concludes with a drive back to the cruise port or your hotel.
