During the Tallinn Old Town Private Holiday Tour you will discover the location of the worlds first public Christmas Tree – Town Hall Square and over 600 year old Town Hall. You will also admire the Church of the Holy Spirit, unique facade of the Great Guild Hall and St. Catherine´s Passage craftsmen work that might inspire you for unique and wonderful Christmas gift ideas.
Your guide will take you to the Kalev Marzipan Museum room where you will see a beautiful collection of hand-painted marzipan figurines. In the Town Council´s Pharmacy you will learn about the history of marzipan and how it’s connected to medieval Tallinn. The Town Hall Pharmacy is the oldest pharmacy in Europe that has continuously been in business in the same spot and your guide will amuse you with incredible legends of medieval remedies and cures. Marzipan was one of the pharmacy’s best sellers, one that local legend insists was actually invented as a curative here in the 15th century already and supposed to relieve the pain of love.
At the marzipan workshop you will make your own marzipan and mold and decorate marzipan sweets and you can also enjoy a warming drink and selection of Estonian chocolates.
